On March 18, Portuguese programmer Cláudio Gil announced the launch of an old 80s video game using Bitcoin cash-based Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP) interactive game markers. The Lode Runner SLP version is an interface to the classic 1983 puzzle game in which players can use the Badger wallet and non-fungible SLP coins (LVL).

Lode Runner and SLP tokens
Token creation in the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) network has been very successful lately, as BCH trailers feature a variety of SLP-based tokens. The majority of SLP tokens were made for fun and people shared the coins with friends. This week, software developer Cláudio Gil took the SLP concept to another level Integrate SLP tokens with the classic 2D video game Lode Runner.
When playing, you must select a level with the badger wallet and send LVL tokens. Users can also play the Electron Cash SLP version by sending LVL to the token address. After launching the game, the player controls the character (Lode Runner) to collect all the gold pieces in the level while being chased by a random number of enemies. The creator of the Lode Runner SLP version says the game is a great use case for non-fungible coins built on the BCH network.
"This is actually a case of non-fungible tokens because there is an unlimited supply for each level because anyone can generate a new token in-game across the screen," Gil said detailed on Monday. "In this game, every token is also a life, and if you deposit three LVL050 tokens, you start with three life."
A variety of use cases for representative tokens based on Bitcoin Cash
Gil explained that the game was produced using the web version of Lode Runner, the Bitbox Toolkit from Bitcoin.com, the Simple Ledger Protocol and some BCH developers who are ready to help. The programmer says that you can only receive tokens if you lose the same. On the Game Over screen, you can pay a quarter of a penny to get a token for that level. "You can then click on the number 10 on the home screen to start from there – and you can always show your merit and get the LVL150 token." everything works in the browser. While there really is not that much money, Gil found it "hard to steal money because people pay in at most a quarter of a penny for a few seconds."
The Lode Runner game with interactive SLP token support opens the log for unbounded use cases and various types of exhibits with non-fungible minted tokens. Other types of games could be incorporated into the SLP token support, the coins could be used for website paywalls, blurry image pages, and other concepts that include representative tokens. Over the last two weeks, tokens have been used for a variety of use cases, such as telegram and Twitter tipp bots, as well as merchant payment processor support. After Gil released the Lode Runner SLP version, many BCH fans said they had enjoyed the classic game with a new kind of crypto gameplay.
"I used to play as a lode runner in the past – that brings me back," said Coinbase Engineer Josh Ellithorpe twittered on Monday.
